Frequently Asked Questions

Online Ordering & Delivery

What is the order deadline?

A new weekly menu is published each Sunday at 4:00 pm Pacific. Menus are published one week prior to the available delivery date. This means that you have a full week to place your order once the menu is available.

Trying to get a last minute order in? Be sure to order by 3:59 pm Pacific time on Sunday to receive an order within 3-5 days, depending on your delivery date.

We cannot accept special orders or orders outside of this deadline at this time.

About the meals

How do I know the meal is healthy?

Our meals are created by our Registered Dietitian and contain fresh, seasonal ingredients. We use whole, nutrient-dense foods and only the highest quality products. Meals are high in protein and generally range from 400 to 600 calories. Added bonus: these portion-controlled meals will help you to not overeat!

What is the serving size of each meal?

The "Regular" size meal is 10 oz, while the "Large" size meal is 12 oz. If you're not sure which size to order, we recommend starting with the 10 oz or ordering a combination of the two until you determine which size is best.

Meal Delivery & Storage

What is vacuum sealing?

With a standard “tv dinner” meal, that is top-sealed, there is air space between the plastic wrap and the food. Ice crystals form due do this space inside the package and the food can move to one-side, causing unequal distribution.

With vacuum sealing, the air is removed from the package which locks in flavor and freshness, and extending the shelf life of the product. This microwave-food safe plastic overwrap self-vents, which cooks the meal to perfection, every time.

How do I re-heat the meals?

We recommend using or freezing your meals within 7-10 days from the date you receive them.

There's a handy instructions card in the box with all of the details, but here they are again, just in case...

Entrées:

*Do not remove or puncture film before re-heating in the microwave.

Refrigerated Instructions: Microwave for 2.5 to 3 minutes or until heated thoroughly.

Freezer Instructions: Microwave for 3.5 to 4 minutes or until heated thoroughly.

Oven Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Defrost meal until thawed and remove meal from packaging. Place the meal on a cookie sheet and cook for 20 minutes, or until heated thoroughly. We recommend heating the meals until they reach an internal cooking temperature of 165°F.

Burritos and Hot Sandwiches:

*Remove plastic film.

Refrigerated Instructions: Microwave for one minute or until heated thoroughly.

Freezer Instructions: Microwave for 1.5 to 2 minutes or until heated thoroughly.

How to cook a frozen burrito in the oven:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Remove the plastic wrapper from the frozen burrito.

  3. Wrap the burrito in a single layer of aluminum foil.

  4. Place the burrito on a cookie sheet and slide it onto the top rack of your oven.

  5. Bake the burrito for 35 to 40 minutes.

Cold Sandwiches & Salads:

Remove film and enjoy. No re-heating required.

How long do my meals last?

We preserve the quality and freshness of food by removing oxygen, not by adding artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. Thanks to our special vacuum-sealing method, meals last in the refrigerator up to ten days.

If you're unable to finish your meals within this time frame (although we're sure this won't be a problem), you can safely freeze the meals for up to 6 months.

How do I dispose of the packaging materials?

In the box, the plastic seal that covers the meal belongs in the trash. Everything else is 100% recyclable!

Dry Ice: Place in a well-ventilated area at room temperature and let sublimate. If you're a true foodie like us, you'll hear the word sublimate, stop at "sub" and only think of sub sandwiches. But this is when solid ice turns into a gas without first becoming a liquid. Science! Once it sublimates, put the plastic bag that housed the dry ice in your recycle bin.
